Expedition To Journalism

Expedition To Journalism

“Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity.”

It all started with poetry at the age of just 14 years when Dr. Gandhi was not even done with his secondary education. His essence of analyzing & observing things was unlike anything else. As a journalist, he started his career in 1994 from the city of diamonds, Surat with Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj with its president Kanji Bhalala in ‘Samaj Saurav’ magazine. After an year, he got married to his better half Kalpna Gandhi and since then, they together started building their own journalism force. They joined Surat Diamond Association as managing editor and sub-editor with Nanubhai Vanani, president of SDA.

Looking at a higher perspective, Dr. Gandhi was not content with his work output in Surat, which pushed him to move to the city of dreams- Mumbai in 1998. He had been there for two years and worked as a sub-editor in ‘Diamond Digest’ magazine. And finally with full assertiveness and self-belief, he started his own magazine ‘7Stars Worldwide’ in the year 2001. And since then, he never looked back; launched his newspaper ‘Diamondcity’ in 2005. Both these publications are solely based on the development of diamond and jewellery industry across the globe. In July 2009, he started a much needed book of demand- ‘Diamondcity Directory’ which provides the entire database of diamond and jewellery section for businessmen in retail, manufacturing, technology & polishing.

Being a social activist, he always wanted to do something for the society and thus for the entire Vanik Gujarati Samaj, he started a very comprehensive newspaper- ‘Sorthi Surat’ in the year 2014 for their upliftment and growth. He is now the working president of Dasha Sorathiya Vanik Samaj, Surat. Later on, he joined the prestigious SGCCI magazine- ‘Samrudhi’ in 2015 as one of the editorial board of members and became popular for his novel writing, short stories and phenomenal poetry.

He always believed that “words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. We must discipline ourselves to speak or write in a way that conveys respect, gentleness and humility.”
