Journey Of FaceComm

Journey Of FaceComm

Dr. Sharad Gandhi first hit upon the impulse for FaceComm at the precocious age of twelve. Gifted with a naturally curious mind, he asked himself the pressing question: “How did people communicate with one another before the origination of the spoken word?” Finding no satisfactory answers from his peers or in the annals of history, Dr. Gandhi began to invent an entirely facial language, free from the constraints of sound or audio transmission. Over time, FaceComm continued to be expanded, refined and improved. Like any other language, FaceComm is a living, dynamic medium, and is being enlarged and fine-tuned every day in its scope of application and practice. The suggestions we will list here regarding its potential use is just scratching the surface. Its full power is limitless. Dr. Sharad Gandhi and his nephew Bharat Gandhi used to develop this language in their day times and practiced during nights. After a continuous perseverance, they made impossible; possible.

I would say, this is not just an invention, but their years of austerity. And today they together created history and became only duo to communicate with each other with just facial expressions worldwide.

Dr. Gandhi demonstrated this program for the first time publically in his college annual function in his 2nd year of graduation in 1989. FaceComm got covered the very next day in a local newspaper. And with unknown source, national television channel Doordarshan got this information and called both of them to Delhi to interview and showcase their talent.

When all this was happening, they invented a new similar kind of language ‘danceComm’- communication through dance which was really an entertainment.

After this event, Dr. Gandhi decided to go Bombay and boasted of this talent. The duo exhibited 50 live programs there in just 2 months and gained amazing popularity. Meanwhile, they got an opportunity to perform in U.K. in 2004 where they did 24 shows. And this list has gone beyond 1500 today.

Thereafter, they set up a national record with Limca book of records in the creativity category. Since then, there was no looking back; they hold their names registered in more than 25 national and international record books till today. They have already been featured in almost every national and regional TV channels talent shows on SONY TV, ZEE TV, ETV Telugu, ZEE TV Telugu, Aastha, Doordarshan, Star Plus and many more viz, almost all format of print and television media covered them in detail- 150 newspapers and several magazines.

Then came the paramount moment of his life; honored with doctorate degree by UK based World Record University in Vietnam in 2013. And then comes the year of fortune 2016; faceComm got published for Indian patent. FaceComm is now ready to be customized as a universal language for all the deaf and mutes through technical development process undergoing.
